NGIWA is committed to providing professional and technical leadership through education, support and representation to advance the growth and profitability of its members.
We are committed to:
- Providing professional and technical leadership
- Developing business and technical skills with a focus on increasing profitability of members through training, education and communication
- Developing and enhancing ‘best practice’ methods by working with members to achieve and maintain industry accreditation
- Being the peak industry representative to advance the professional standing of the industry with government agencies, industry bodies and the community
- Assisting members to stay abreast of various Industry Codes, Standards, Practices and legislative requirements
Our key objectives are:
- To implement a successful strategy for retaining current members and encouraging new members to join
- Develop revenue streams to ensure NGIWA has adequate resources and structures in place to achieve its objectives
- To provide members with training and educational opportunities to develop the business and technical skills of owners and their employees
- To develop and implement an effective communication plan to inform and update members and industry stakeholders with relevant information
- To provide opportunities for members to promote their products and their businesses
- To implement a strategy to increase the number of members actively working towards, and achieving, industry accreditation and 'best practice' management measures
- To ensure the ongoing provision of a skilled and productive workforce
- To influence the opinions and policies of government agencies and industry bodies for the benefit of the industry
Code Of Ethics
- A member will support the nursery and garden industry as an honourable and necessary profession
- A member will avoid all forms of business practice that would bring discredit to the nursery and garden industry
- A member will observe the rules of the Association and strive always to enhance its public relations and objectives
- A member will practice the profession with fairness, competence, integrity and loyalty and use all knowledge, experience and skill for the benefit of the public, profession, employer, clients, associates and employee
- A member shall unreservedly promote unity, good fellowship and greater endeavour within the Association for the benefit of all
- A member shall unreservedly strive constantly to improve qualifications and proficiency in the industry and thereby merit the esteem of our peers and others
- A member shall unreservedly give full and truthful representation in all sales and services rendered to advertising of such
- A member shall unreservedly be gracious in dealings with others and satisfy totally the needs of their customers
- A member will promote and assist in any way possible the greening of Australia and the preservation and reproduction of our flora
- A member will adopt where possible, Best Practice and Codes of Practice to reduce the use of chemicals to protect the environment
- A member shall comply with the requirements of the Trade Practices Act
- As an employer, a member must adhere to the legislation governing both Equal Opportunity and Sexual Harassment laws
