Water Sprinkler Ban Now In Effect
Winter time in Perth, Mandurah and parts of the South West and Great Southern region means winter sprinkler ban time. Each year Water Corporation enforces a total ban on sprinkler use for scheme and bore water users from 1 June to 31 August which helps to save 4.5 billion litres of water each year.
For nurseries and garden centres you can play a key role in communicating the ban to customers, reminding them to switch off their irrigation. If you’re not located within the ban area you can also help by reminding customers that with the cooler weather the needs of lawn and gardens will change and require less irrigation and to always turn off their irrigation if it’s raining.
And although plant nurseries are exempt from the winter sprinkler ban you can still do your bit and help save water during the cooler months. If possible reduce your irrigation schedule or create a display to remind customers about the ban.
